Broward County is one of Florida's most densely populated and diverse counties, with a large hospitality, retail, and healthcare support workforce where employer dental coverage is inconsistent — many residents purchase standalone plans.
Families buy dental coverage for two different groups: children and adults. Under the ACA, dental care is an essential health benefit for children but not for adults. Broward County has 197 Marketplace health plans from 12 insurers for 2026 (22 Health, Ambetter Health and 10 others), and none of them has to cover adult dental care.
How Family Dental Plans Are Priced in Broward County
For a real reference point, the top tier of SecureDental PLUS was quoted at $44.63 a month for one adult in Texas in August 2026, before a $7.95 monthly association fee and $10 one-time fee that apply where the plan is issued through its sponsoring association. Lower tiers cost less, age doesn’t change the price, and state does.
A family dental plan covers each enrolled person under one policy, with the same preventive, basic and major classes of care as an individual plan. Deductibles usually apply per person with a family cap: $50 a person up to $150 a family on SecureDental PLUS.
Where to Use Family Dental Coverage in Broward County
No website can reliably tell you which dentists in Broward County take a particular plan. Offices join and leave networks, so search the plan’s provider directory by the family’s dentists’ name and ZIP code, then call the office to confirm.
Most stand-alone dental plans are PPOs or HMOs. A dental PPO pays toward any licensed dentist but pays more in-network; a dental HMO usually costs less but only pays its own network dentists. If you want to keep a dentist you already see in Broward County, a PPO that includes the office is normally the better fit.
