Lower tiers cost less, age doesn’t change the price, and state does.
For the self-employed, dental premiums usually qualify for the self-employed health insurance deduction. It lowers income tax, not self-employment tax, is capped at the business’s net profit, and is lost for any month you could have joined an employer-subsidized plan. The bigger line in that deduction is usually health cover: Gilchrist County’s 2026 benchmark Silver plan runs $786 a month for a 40-year-old before subsidies.
