Colorado is one of the largest single-state impacts in the country. About 41,000 Coloradans lose their Cigna plan, and it lands on top of a 13.4% increase Colorado carriers have already filed.

Why Colorado Is Hit Harder Than Most

At roughly 41,000 enrollees, Colorado carries one of the heaviest single-state Cigna books in the country. That matters for replacement supply: when that many people move at once, the plans that look cheapest in November are not always the ones still taking enrollment comfortably in December. Moving early is worth more here than in a state losing a few thousand people.

• Confirm you are affected. The carrier name is on your ID card, not the exchange’s name. If it says Cigna, you are moving for 2027.
• Your notice comes from Colorado’s own marketplace, not from CMS. People watching for a federal letter miss the state one sitting in the same pile.
• List your doctors and prescriptions first. Network and formulary are exactly where an auto-assigned replacement goes wrong — it matches on metal tier and price, nothing else.
• Enrol by December 15 for coverage starting January 1. Open Enrollment runs November 1 to January 15, but your Cigna plan ends January 1 regardless.
