What Each Dental Tier Pays
SecureDental PLUS comes in three tiers. Every tier pays cleanings and exams in full from the first day.

|---|---|---|---|
| Cleanings and exams (in network) | 100% | 100% | 100% |

In-network percentages after a $50 deductible per person (capped at three people per family). Benefits come from the plan brochure; your certificate governs.
When Coverage Starts
Cleanings and exams are covered from day one. Fillings and other basic care start after one month. Crowns, bridges, dentures and orthodontia start after twelve months, so if you need major work soon, start the plan now and ask your dentist whether the work can safely wait. Stand-alone dental and vision plans can be bought in any month; they are not tied to Open Enrollment.
Vision Coverage in Illinois
PremierVision runs on the Spectera Eyecare Network and costs $12.15 a month in Illinois for one person: a $0 copay for the eye exam, a $10 copay for materials, a $150 frame allowance and a $200 allowance for contact lenses. Like the dental plan, it is not priced by age.
The Association in Illinois
In Illinois the plans are issued through a sponsoring association, the American Independent Business Coalition, so membership is part of enrolling: $7.95 a month and a $10 one-time fee, on top of the premiums above. The dues are charged once per membership, not once per plan, so dental and vision together still pay them once.
What These Plans Are Not
Dental and vision plans are excepted benefits under federal law: they are not minimum essential coverage and never stand in for a health plan. Both are guaranteed renewable to age 65. Children’s dental and vision are essential health benefits on marketplace health plans; adult dental and vision are not, which is why most adults buy them separately. On the marketplace, a dental plan can only be added while buying a health plan; these plans have no such rule.
